G+_Edvardas Rimkus
I have a strange problem. Close to a year ago i designed a custom part, and have it's stl. Now I need to change a few things to it. Is there any way to figure out on which service it was designed?
G+_Jeff Gros
Figure out what program designed it? Maybe. I opened up a STL that I designed in Fusion 360 using notepad. The file is mostly binary, but the first line is in text and says "Meshmixer-STL-Binary-Format" (Meshmixer and Fusion 360 are both made by autodesk). Although, I'm not sure it matters. An STL is just triangles, so you aren't getting any of the design history back. However, you can change it to boundary representation (BREP) to get it back as a body, then you can patch all the faces. In fusion 360 you will have to turn off design history to do all of this. A lot easier to mess with step files. I recently took the filament feeder step file from the Prusa Enclosure thingiverse page and tweaked it a bit. It imports in as a solid body, not as a hideous collection of triangles. From there I edit it as normal.

G+_Jeff Gros
Glad you found your account! Much easier that way, as they still have the design data! ;)
