G+_Kevin Rippentrop
OK, so I got the 450 in the air. While tuning it, I noticed that the motor on arm #4 was just not right. Started cutting in and out after a bit... resulting in a couple of flips. Being just a foot or so off the ground, no damage. To see if it was the motor or the ESC, I swapped motors from arm #2 and the troublesome #4. I thought all was good, but about mid way into the second battery, the motor, now on arm #2, cut again and down she went. Can I assume I have a faulty motor? Running the eMax motors from the 450 build. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.
G+_Jason Marsh
If the trouble followed the motor I'd say you're probably dead-on with your prognosis. Is this happening during low-load flight, only when pushing it, or seemingly anytime of the motor's choosing?
G+_Kevin Rippentrop
Since this is my first build and I was still in the process of tuning, I really wasn't pushing it too hard. With that being said, I can't say it only happened when goosing the throttle. It went couple times just hovering. I ordered a new motor and will do some easy testing to see if I can recreate over a half dozen batteries before feeling safe.
G+_Eddie Hughes
Did you try switching the esc's? That would make sure it's not the esc's instead of the motors...
