G+_Ben Yanke
Pretty much the most ghetto shock mount I've ever created. TDed a play tonight (lights and sound), and used fishing line to isolate it from the set, since I was getting noise anytime a door opened or closed. Also helped position it exactly where it was needed (which was important, since we were trying to use an SM58 as a boundary mic). Got it rock solid by removing the silver pop filter, wrapping fishing line around the threads, then screwing it back on over the fishing line. It wasn't going anywhere!? Would a boundary mic be nice? Yup. Did this work well? Absolutely. And fellow KH member Luke Kolarsky??? did a fine job in a starring role!?
G+_Ben Tyger
Can't say I haven't made a mount like that for a theatre production.
