G+_Ben Yanke
FYI: for half the price of the proposed PtP wifi link, ubiquity (probably higher quality) has links for $50 per end: https://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-NanoStation-locoM2-2-4GHz-Outdoor/dp/B004EGI3CI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1496788664&sr=8-2&keywords=ubiquiti+point+to+point Fr. G+_Peter Hanse
I still go for 5 Ghz with line of sight. Tried 2.4 ghz but even in our small town to much interface. Want to try the Litebeam Ubiquiti 5GHz LiteBeam AC 23DBI (LBE-5AC-23-US) amazon.com - Amazon.com: Ubiquiti 5GHz LiteBeam AC 23DBI (LBE-5AC-23-US): Computers & Accessories
G+_Jon Papai
I agree with 5Ghz being good for line of sight. My ISP has a base station on a tower 7 miles from my home. They installed the shown equipment from Cambium Networks on my home aimed at said tower that uses unlicensed 5 Ghz spectrum. I have never had loss of signal in even the heaviest rain or snow. G+_Hagos Rush
Thats awesome Peter Hanse. A friend of mine was just looking at the 2.4 nano but I will let him know about the 5GHz model
G+_James Nennemann
Peter Hanse they already have a second version of this too, I believe. If you can run 80mhz channels, you will be stunned at the throughput. I use some PowerBeams from Ubiquiti that carries a near 600mb/s through put at 12 miles and they are maybe twice as much cost. G+_Peter Hanse
I will have to keep that in mind. Our Enginus Setup gets 30-50 mb/S but we have less then 1/2 mile between. They are older 5 Ghz non mimo and non AC so working as they should but we do want to increase this and will be considering doing it this summer. Any models you use or would suggest I will look at. G+_James Nennemann
Lightbeam AC or Nanobeam AC would be extremely low cost at that range, but very high performance. I would make sure that you have UNII-2 bands available and use the lower band or the DFS bands if it suites your location.
