G+_Marc Kline
This may be a longshot, but I thought I'd try to tap into the diverse collective geek consciousness of the TWiT crowd... I'm exploring a kiosk solution for our farm's store. We'd like to show photos taken in the field, highlights of some of the seasonal produce available, upcoming events, etc. I'd like for our office people to be able to setup the frames remotely, via a web interface. So far, I've taken a precursory look at Screenly for Raspberry Pi and various inexpensive Android devices. Does anyone have any tips or experiences they can share to help me out? G+_Bill Crowe
I have advised customers to use AppleTV's displaying pictures from a Flicker account. The slide show of Flicker photos can be updated remotely and easily. For $99, it's the cheapest signage player I know of.

G+_Marc Kline
Bill Crowe That's an interesting option. Can you customize the display duration for the images? If not, do you know how long they display for?

G+_Bill Crowe
It has been a while since I set this up and i am not sure of what all settings you have in the latest iOS. I have an AppleTV at home, so I'll try it out to see how it works in the latest iOS.

G+_Bill Crowe
The AppleTV will allow adjustment of the time per photo when using a Ken Burns or Classic theme. There are many visual themes to choose, but these two are the only ones I found that will allow for the time adjustment. Also, you can add audio from a connected iTunes library's play list. G+_Marc Kline
Bill Crowe Thank you for taking the time to check on the settings and follow up. This sounds like a great option: a little more expensive than the Raspberry Pi solution, but less complex (ie. less intervention required on my part) and at a much better price point than the Android devices that require a monthly service to use. I may prove the concept with my own Raspberry Pi, then suggest that we go the Apple TV route. Thanks again!
