Which is better max7219 led matrix or the adafruit 8x8 led matrix with i2c backpack for led matrices

I don't know about the max7219, but I have 3 adafruit 16x8 matrix' with the i2c backpack, and those work very well.

Donald Kloss I think 8, but I don't remember off the top of my head. Depends on how many i2c addresses the backpack has.
