G+_Todd Nielsen
I have one more WannaCry question. If my were to be encrypted with True Crypt or Microsoft Bit Locker. Would that protect my systems from ransonware?
G+_Travis Hershberger
Nope. Any file you have access to can be encrypted. Those tools only protect the device from someone reading data after it's out of your control.
G+_Black Merc
Unless you change your files extensions to something that the ransomware will ignore(based on the kh demo of wannacry), your not safe. Even if you do, that won't protect you from the next version(guessing) that looks into the file to decide if the file should be victimized, or other ransomware that crypts up the entire drive/partition. Side benefit to you encrypting your files, then getting hit with ransomware, the ransom-ers(assuming they can extract your files from your machine using a backdoor), cannot be read by them either. G+_Golden Retriever
Some versions of these tools actually use Windows BitLocker to do the encryption so I would say no
