G+_Francis Kindred
I currently use a macbook pro as my main machine with some old laptops with ubuntu installed (plex server, file storage etc) at my lab to play around with. My macbook is already showing its age and thinking of going full ubuntu on main machine. Anyone out there switched from OSX to Ubuntu completely? Now I'm in the market on looking at those dell xps laptops and just put ubuntu on them.
G+_Arcturus Lancaster
Went Ubuntu way back vista days... Alt to Mac cuz I still like a desktop. Went other nix after they started making a mess of Ubuntu. Still have win VM for my cad software. And windows boxes for games and to run my laser cutter. ... Switch away just be ready to work around things that do not run under nix
G+_David Peach
I'm looking to take a 2009 MacBook Pro and installing a Linux on it. My Linux flavor of choice is straight Debian, but since this will be an extra box to play with I might try multi booting several just to check them out. But that is a project for October or November. So I won't have a quick answer for you on how well it goes.
