G+_Jason Eckelstafer
I need to borrow the KITA electrical engineers for a second... I'm playing around with the idea to build a pair of heated gloves that'll be powered by USB. I've seen a couple instructables that layout different pieces but it's been so long since I've done any electrical design that I don't know where to get supplies (all my local places closed - including radio shack). And since I was asking where people bought their components, I figured I'd throw out my design to get any feedback anyone had on it. G+_William L. DeRieux IV
Jason Eckelstafer You mentioned that your local Radio Shack store had closed -- there are some stores still available (I don't know what their part selections are like in-store, but they do still sell components from what I have heard) You can check to see what is the closest Radio shack store to you here: https://www.radioshack.com/apps/store-locator You can also order the parts from their website -- if the stores don't carry them anymore. Here's an article from hackaday: How-To: Where to find parts for your projects "Digi-Key, Mouser Electronics, Futurlec, Sparkfun electronics, ebay" http://hackaday.com/2007/11/16/how-to-where-to-find-parts-for-your-projects/
G+_Jason Eckelstafer
Wow thanks William L. DeRieux IV - that hackaday gives some great online sources. Also, I tried the Radio Shack locator and it pointed out other local stores.
G+_William L. DeRieux IV
Jason Eckelstafer Radio shack might not be the company it once was....but they do still have some essential components. Did you find a store that was close enough?

G+_Jason Eckelstafer
Yeah. Looks like I have one about 15 mins away so that's great. I'd rather spend a couple extra bucks and support local.
G+_Cole Brodine
I order online from Jameco or Mouser from time to time. Not many other ways to get stuff where I live.
