G+_Wayne White
I picked up two for trainers to learn flying. One to fly and crash, the other for spare parts. The things are so easy to fly that I haven't needed to cannibalize the second. Ordered a Walkera Scout X4 and definitely wanted to learn some skills before taking the Scout out. Funny thing is, the Scout in GPS mode, it's easier to fly than the Syma. I land it like a fighter pilot in manual mode and will probably end up breaking something. Back to the Syma. Pick up some 600 mAh batteries. They fit a little tight, but a stripped Syma with no camera or landing struts (I even removed the battery door), I'm getting around 10 minutes flight time. The Walkera Scout is my Christmas present to myself. What a nice guy I am!
G+_Steve C
Is the Syma X5 better than the Hubsan X4? I got an X4 last year and it's all but uncontrollable. I can barely keep it in my yard if there isn't any wind, forget about trying to fly it in the house. The problem seems to be a tendency to go way up or drop down suddenly and a slight delay in the remote control that makes attempts at correcting it's flight come too late. I've seen lots of Youtube videos claiming they were able to fly it successfully but I think they are all fakes. I've tried lots of little helicopters over the years with no success at flying them and tried the X4 but haven't had any luck with that either.
