G+_Shooter_FPV (Shooter_FP
Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ Great 3D printing episode. I have the Plus, and did both Micro Swiss upgrades you mentioned, and I've NEVER had an issue with anything not sticking to the bed. In fact, I am doing an OpenRC F1 build, and I printed tires in NinjaFlex... they stuck so hard to the bed that you could actually lift up the printer with the tire... And if you're thinking of giving a printer away, I have a great place for it. I work for a school department in northern Rhode Island. The high school robotics teacher has 2 Soliddoodles, one MakerBot Replicator, and one MakerBot 5th Gen., and they all print like crap! He hasn't gotten a decent print out of ANY of them in over a year. And the Soliddoddles are both down. Funny thing is our Middle school has 2 MakerBot Z18 printers and they have gone through 4-5 extruder replacements. My Plus prints so good that I am doing prints for him. So if you need a good home for one, Mr. Aldrich, the robotics teacher, would LOVE one. His robotics team is Renegade 154, and they have been RI State Champs 10 times in the past 14 years... and I'm getting sick of him asking to use mine!! lol... G+_Paul Hutchinson
As someone currently living just north of the border, who spent 2nd to 10th grades living in Cranston and having relatives currently in Northern RI, I enthusiastically second the choice of a Northern RI school for the donation. G+_Shooter_FPV (Shooter_FP
Paul Hutchinson Howdy neighbor! lol... Well, former neighbor... The school department is Burrillville, so you must know it being from Northern RI. Their robotics team has great kids. I even try to inspire them once in a while... G+_Shooter_FPV (Shooter_FP
Jeff Gros At this high school, yes. He teaches robotics, but also teaches modelling in Solidworks and AutoDESK Inventor. He has students design parts and stuff, then print them. Like he has a styrofoam plane on a rotating tether, so students design a propeller and put it on to see how long the plane can fly with it. He also has students design/build the robot for the team. They do the FIRST Tech Challenge every January. When I was in High School our computer classes were on Apple II's... what a long, strange trip it's been... G+_Paul Hutchinson
Ken Jancef Great little town Burrillville I'm there frequently since my younger brother lives one town south on the west side in RI and I'm one town north on the west side in MA. Spend a lot of time hiking in the 1800 acre Buck Hill Management Area and the 7000+ acres adjacent in MA conservation lands & State Forest. G+_Shooter_FPV (Shooter_FP
Paul Hutchinson I'm one of the computer techs for the District, but I live close to Providence. I've been to Buck Hill many times. Even though RI is so small, it really is a great place to live...
