G+_Shooter_FPV (Shooter_FP
Getting closer to finishing my Open/RC F1 car... everything is printed, all the electronics arrived, except for the remote and receiver, which will come in Monday. Got the motor and ESC installed, used sticky tape to secure the ESC. As this will be a Christmas present for my 10 year old son, do you think he’ll notice a little wear in the tires when he gets it?? Lol...
G+_Ben Reese
Sweet! And I think it's you're parental responsibility to make sure it functions properly before Christmas. You can always print more tires :-)
G+_Shooter_FPV (Shooter_FP
Ben Reese I think I'm going to print new tires anyway. From the build videos on this that I see from the designer, my tires don't seem "squishy" enough. I may have to use less infill. I'll print one and see how it is... I'm going to make some stickers with my son's YouTube handle... he should like that... put them on the sides and rear wing...
G+_Paul Hutchinson
Excellent build! BTW - love the tiny McCoy Stadium model in the pictures, Go PawSox.
G+_Shooter_FPV (Shooter_FP
Paul Hutchinson Thanks... but if things don't go right in the next few months, the PawSox may just "Go"... somewhere else.. But that's a discussion for another day... lol...
G+_Todd Barnard
Looks terrific! More than a little envious!
G+_Shooter_FPV (Shooter_FP
Todd Barnard Seriously, the hardest part is printing all of the parts. There's not a lot of electronics involved, not like a quad or something. And thanks.
G+_Shooter_FPV (Shooter_FP
What do you do with a paper clip? Around here you turn it into a servo arm... lol...
G+_Darryl Gibbs
If that has DRS on the rear wing, you'll be my hero! lol

G+_Shooter_FPV (Shooter_FP
Someone actually designed a GoPro mount that screws onto the top cover where the hole is. Will definitely do that.

G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Could you make a version of this... but for Strohl? (It's easy... just break off the front wing and one of the arms!) :)
G+_Shooter_FPV (Shooter_FP
Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ Umm... not sure what you mean... thinking there might be a joke in there somewhere, but not sure... a long hockey weekend with my son can do that to you... care to elaborate?? ? G+_Jason Perry
Strohl is a driver for Williams. He was recently in an accident with Vettel who drives for Ferrari. I am not a huge F1 guy, mainly because I don't have access to its coverage, so if there is more to it I'll let Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ? fill you in on the rest. Funny you mention hockey, Strohl is Canadian.
G+_Shooter_FPV (Shooter_FP
Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ Jason Perry D’OH! I don’t follow F1 as much as I should... now if you said NASCAR....
