G+_Chandler Gonzales
Gina Trapani Jason Howell Ron Richards You guys said in a previous episode that you hope that the new version of android is 5.0 Key Lime Pie and not 4.3 Jellybean. Especially Gina was saying that she would be disappointed if they announced Jellybean at I/O. You guys also remarked that calling it Jellybean would make the fragmentation problem look better. Well if there is a certain amount of features in the new version, why does it matter what it is called. If you get the features you are looking for in 4.3, then does it really matter whether it is Jellybean or Key Lime Pie? Also with the fragmentation, people seem to group 4.1 and 4.2 together in the market share percentages simply because they are both called Jellybean. Are they not different versions with different capabilities? You guys say how well Jellybean is doing while 4.2 is still only a very small fraction of the Jellybean numbers. I know there is a difference in impression, but from an enthusiast's perspective, 4.3 will probably bring as many features and increase fragmentation just as much as 5.0 will. Just a thought. Love the show!
G+_Lucas Nichols
I think the hope for klp/5.0 is for a drastic leap in os improvement. Think gingerbread to ics, then ics to jellybean. And that 4.2 to 4.3 wouldn't be that drastic.
G+_Chandler Gonzales
But thats just a naming convention. Was ICS to Jellybean not a point release? Yet it had lots of new features
