G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
To all the TWiET fans who visited the NOC at Interop... THANK YOU! It was a pleasure to meet you and to hear about YOUR passion for tech. (After all, you hear me drone on about it week after week!) I want you to know that show management took note of how many TWiT Army members showed up at Interop and now we're working on rewarding the TWiET Riot in future shows. (Cryptic enough?) Just as a show of good faith, I wanted to fulfill one of my earlier promises... to post a picture of me before I gained the mass of a dying star. G+_Josh Frye
A lot of TWiET goes right over my head as I am just beginning to really get into the nuts and bolts of my IT career, but I always find it very informative. Now if you only threw in some open source information technology stuff.. maybe.
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Ya know... we DID have an entire episode dedicated to OpenStack. :)
G+_Josh Frye
Umm do not think bad of me, but open stack is one of those "beyond me right now" things. (I know pretty sad.) How about umm open source stuff for the new AV/IT integration that is all the rage now. That is my little corner of our Region's IT dept here at Ivy Tech. G+_Josh Frye
Ohh and to make sure I say this Love the show and the panels that always accompany you Father Robert. I had a bit of head scratches at the Interop, just a few, but damn it was a very informative show.
G+_Josh Frye
Kevin Gamin The worst part for me, when I started, as the intern, this Region of Ivy Tech was using Novel, XP monowalls and a few other tibits. But other regions were using other bits and pieces. That includes everyone using different projector brands, printer brands and yadda yadda. Now we are a Dell shop, with Macs, Epson projectors and AD everywhere. ( In all of two and a half years) And we skipped Vista thank gosh. And instead of Regional (count 13 help desks) we are now one IT dept statewide and we are still not done. Tis why when Twit and Rev3 and a few other places mention stuff I read and see if it helps keep me moving with the tech trends and where I need to be. Thanks guys for making my life easier and for still reading this ramble. :)
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
I love rambles. :) But seriously... I like to make the show a mix of expertise. Thanks for the feedback and I'll see what I can do to accommodate.
