G+_Benjamin Breüner Frost
Am I the only one who didn't know you could do this with your usb drive. i just recently found out about this and i know it's not a big thing but i do think it is pretty nice being able to customize my usb drive like that and do it a little personal. it's easy to do just open a new text document and write [autorun] label=usbName icon=yourIcon.ico and then save as autorun.inf in the root folder on your usb drive. G+_Benjamin Breüner Frost
Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ I'm a little curious are there any major problems with auto run in windows 7 and newer for the reason most usb autorun features were disabled was because of security reasons. G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
It's just a good thing not to have on... one less bad-actor vector to worry about.

G+_Ben Reese
Yeah, this is using the same autorun.ini file, but there's another label you can add to run an executable when the drive is plugged in. Windows no longer runs that executable automatically, but I'm pretty sure it will give you a prompt asking if you want to. The icon thing works on other folders too, BTW. I don't remember if it's still called autorun.ini or not, but there's a way to add icons and other meta tags to a folder by adding that file. Great way to personalize your drives and folders!
