G+_David Keeler
Fr. Robert says we can learn something from every 'unscheduled landing'.... Here is footage from an old iTouch strapped onto my SK450. No one was hurt in the making of this footage! I was trying to stay away from flying directly over the pool, when my #3 prop spun off. the SK450 does not have reverse threaded screws and this has happened several times where the prop bolt has flown off, especially with 10 inch props. A post flight analysis shows that apparently the drone fell onto the pool slide, and the iTouch slid off and into the pool! There is no protective case on the iTouch, 2 days in a bag of rice fixed it right up. The SK450 stayed on the slide with some damage but I was able to repair it and return it to the air.... How can I make sure props are secure and unable to spin free? Some sites suggest using lock nuts but Im not sure this is the best answer. The motors are Multistar 2213 935kv. Any thoughts? G+_Quadflyingmedic
Go to the hardware store and get some nylock nuts. Been using them for a few years never had one come loose

G+_David Keeler
Quadflyingmedic I remove and swap props regularly, is it ok to take nylocks on and off repeatedly or is it once they tighten that's it...
G+_David Keeler
Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ I can add it as a feature... a reverse flying sub from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea!
G+_Quadflyingmedic
David Keeler they can be removed multiple times. I use them on my 250 racing quad and I go through tons of props. I usually drop them in the grass swapping props. Never wore one out yet
