Hey guys, I wonder if you can help me please? I feel like a complete idiot but I can't find the show notes for the episodes on FPV120 quadcopter. I've googled backwards and forwards and searched TWIT site as well but I just can seem to find a link that takes me there. I know I sound dumb and I'm sure it's an easy link to see but for the life of me I can't. Could someone point me at the right links please? Thank you!

Ken Jancef thanks. I wanted to do more research on the components and software used. Basically every part so I can see how they fit together (electrically and logically) and understand their specifications. I have good understanding of some of the theory but I wanted to add knowledge of the components too please.

Found my notes. FPV150 build started Episode 189 (as you noted) although it was introduced in Ep 176. I don't believe there were show notes, just the parts list.

Episode 115 has a transcript of the Show where they talk about the 250 size quad. The 150 size uses similar parts but Padre uses soldered connections instead of plug ins.

But like Ken said, if you have questions, just ask.

As far as how the parts fit together electronically, the transmitter converts the User's hand motions on the controls into RF signals (probably 2.4 Ghz band). The onboard receiver module converts this back to voltage (PWM I believe) and sends that to the onboard flight controller. The flight controller has four outputs, one for each motor. The motors are not driven directly, but are driven through the ESCs. Each ESC has input connections from the flight controller, and also plus and minus connections from the battery. The ESCs output voltage to the motors depending on the signal received from the flight controller.

These parts are all modular, so we don't get to see what happens inside. There is some information available from the parts suppliers, and by Goggling the individual part numbers. But mostly you just plug it all together and go fly. One Episode had an imbedded video where Padre went through step by step how to wire up the 250, and I had to watch it closely and pause and rewind quite a few times to understand what he was showing us, especially about the receiver to flight controller wiring, which is absolutely critical.

Preet Sangha Here is a video I watched several months ago where he goes into the parts list and what they do.

This guy has several videos that go into details about the various components and what they do. You may have to watch a few of his videos to get your education, but he does a good job of explaining it all.
