G+_Dean Chauvin
Anyone have a good way to move Google Play Music audio files to SD? I've seen some solutions, but it is based on having root access. I have an unrooted Note 2. Any idea if or when Google will allow this functionality built in to the app in a future update? Seems like an obvious option to have in an app like this. G+_Joseph Cappellino
You could just download them with Google Music Manager on a PC/Mac then copy the files to your SD Card. Plus, this is all legal as there is no DRM on the files.
G+_Dean Chauvin
That is an OK solution, but it would be nice if it were integrated into the app. Just about any other media-based app allows this to be an option.
G+_Dean Chauvin
I've already done this. I have over 3GB on my internal phone's memory. I'd like to move it to the much larger SD card instead and have even more downloaded. I don't have connectivity at work and streaming music isn't an option, so having a significant amount of music stored locally would help me out. Thanks for the input! G+_James Healy
I think HTC (or gingerbread?) got the SD card right. On my HTC gingerbread phone it uses the SD card as the main storage area for folders like download, DCIM, Android/data etc. So when I upgraded to a 32gb card I just copied from one SD to another and swapped them over. When I select music to store locally it tells me there are 22Gb free, which is bigger than internal memory - so Google Music is downloading to SD by default. G+_Robert Hendrix
Dean Chauvin I use Google Drive and an app called Foldersync to keep them all in sync on my SD card. Then I use 3rd party apps to keep my playlists and export them for any new device I have.
