Anybody know how to automatically download my pictures from Google+ to my hard drive? I love instant upload on my phone, but I want them on my computer so I can back them up with the rest of my pictures. I installed iCloud on Windows to download my daughter's iphone pictures. I'd like something similar for Android.

In Picasa, import from Google+ Photos and turn on sync to web.

Why not also have any pictures automatically uploaded to Dropbox? That way they'll be accessible across all devices.

I went with syncing to Picasa Web, works great.

I forgot about Picasa integrating with Google+. I'm downloading. Sounds like what I'm looking for.

I already have access to my photos on Google+ across all my devices so I don't see the benefit of Dropbox.

I also just found an app in the Play Store called Sweet Home that automatically syncs pictures from the phone to the computer via wifi. Seems to work very well and I can install it on my wife's phone. I'm not sure if Picasa supports multiple accounts. I'll find out! Thanks for the recommendations!

why are you using google+? use flickr or smugmug. i prefer smugmug but it is expensive but you get what you pay for.

Only because Google+ has the instant upload feature on the mobile app so at least I have backup in the cloud, and that might be handy if my family ever joins Google+ so I can share with my family instead of on Facebook.

Mike, Google Takeout is great, but I wanted a set and forget synchronizing solution. I have a media drive with about 20 years of pictures/video, and that drive gets continuously backed up via Crashplan. My kids both have iPhone's, my wife and I have Android phones, and we all take pictures! I setup iCloud to automatically copy the iPhone pictures to the Media drive. I was looking for something similar for Android. Picasa is great, but it doesn't seem to handle multiple user accounts. The Sweet Home app I found after posting seems to do exactly what I want. All our Android pictures are now copied to the Media Drive automatically.
