I'm confused about programming the limits for ESCs.  First I don't see any beeper on the ESC circuit board - is it the ESC that beeps?  It appears that these limits are persistently stored - is there a procedure to change those limits if you mess up the first time or want to change them later?  I don't see any instructions on the ready to fly quads site about this.

I was confused about the beeb too. I believe the beeb is coming from the motors. I'm guessing they do some fancy induction trick.

 

If by "programing" you mean setting up the throttle range of your transmitter with your ESCs, then yes, they are persistent. If you want to change them, just repeat the procedure.

Yup... it's not a traditional speaker/buzzer. It's magic... I think it comes from a sympathetic vibration of the blue smoke contained within the field effect transistors as they come into contact with the Heisenberg compensators. :)

So it's the fact that it's being given full throttle on power up that puts the ESC in calibration mode?

Yes... or it might be the Heisenberg compensator. I can never tell.

The noise actually comes from the motors. So you need your motors connected for it to work.
