Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ Let's assume I've been following all your recommendations and own a Syma X5 (or two) and have a Taranis Plus on order in anticipation of the KH250 build.  What's the module that lets the Taranis control the X5?  Is it the same as the one that controls the Syma X1?  Any good links for any tricks in making this work?

Look on rc groups they're are several threads on there that talk about how to get it done. I think there is a Jr module fot it but it has been a while since I saw one?

And what will be the benefit ? I just changed the stock antenna to a 2.4 ghz from an old router and reach 300 meter you don't need more then that with syma

I've got the Syma X5 (actually two of them) and am comfortable with it to the point that I fly between narrow gaps in trees in front of my house.  I've got the Taranis on order in support of the KH250 build.  If I had the option of adding a $20ish module to the Taranis so it would also control the Syma X5 I'd go for it.  Even though the controls are similar I consider building muscle memory on the Taranis with the X5 to be a good thing, but lets face it - it gives me the ability to play with the new toy (the Taranis) when I'm doing casual/risky flying with the X5 quickly after work when I'm not flying the new and bigger quad.
