I'm getting close to ordering parts for my first DIY quad and need to pick a radio.  Since the radio will carry from build to build I'm willing to pay some extra to get the right one, but don't want to go completely nuts.  It seems that 6 channel will work for now, but later I'll probably want to control a camera gimbal.  Knowing that if buying something super cheap and simple is the way to go for now I'm still OK with that.  Can anyone make some specific brand/model recommendations?

But get as many channels as you can afford.  They come in handy with the pan/tilt cameras, etc.  and of course the machine guns and doomsday devices..

i also am about to order raido, ive gotten in most of my other parts now, but atm i cant afford one quite that expensive, would the turnigy 9x suffice?

Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ Yea sure can would that be better than the turning? I plan to try and put go pro and gimbal at some point so thought may need extra channel but this all new for me
