G+_Steve Prior
After getting very lucky after a couple of crashes to find the black prop spinner and washer in the grass I've decided to not only buy a few spares, but also to buy a metal detector. The metal detector probably won't pay for itself, but it'll reduce frustration (probably worth it).
G+_Michael Heinz
Are you using loc-tite to keep the prop spinner attached?
G+_Steve Prior
Since they are removed occasionally for prop changes I didn't think I was supposed to use loc-tite for the spinner. Will even loc-tite keep the spinner attached when the prop hits something while the motor is spinning?
G+_Michael Heinz
It will help.
G+_Steve Prior
Just put some on. Hopefully it'll have time to dry before I break the props again - My normally good safety record is on the decline this weekend as I get a little more daring with the trees I fly around. G+_T Burns
Steve Prior where are you going to get your spares?
G+_Steve Prior
I'll have to order them from readytoflyquads.com though they may be on backorder. Fortunately I found them so far so I can still fly. I'll have to check to see if the threads go in the right direction to use an ordinary hex nut in a pinch. G+_T Burns
Regular hex nuts do work. I found out when i lost one during my second flight of the KH250. I ended up breaking my 260 frame and just finished installing everything on my new ZMR250 frame last week. I've been waiting on the cones to come back in stock, but I think I'm going to have to go for the whole propeller adapter since it looks like the cone doesn't come with a washer. http://www.readytoflyquads.com/advancet-propeller-adapter
