G+_Reed Hanson
I just watched your distance networking show, and thought that this would be a good idea to put your cables in. http://www.homedepot.com/p/JM-eagle-3-4-in-x-10-ft-PVC-Schedule-40-Plain-End-Pipe-57471/202280935 Would this be beneficial to use or would it be more heart ache then just using the direct bury cable? I mean if you glued the ends shut and capped them right, these should last 20+ years. http://www.homedepot.com/p/JM-eagle-3-4-in-x-10-ft-PVC-Schedule-40-Plain-End-Pipe-57471/202280935
G+_610GARAGE
You should really burry all wires in conduit. Nobody really does, but it is better. I don't think you should use standard pvc though. They make pvc conduit for this purpose. at the very least, the grey conduit will be understood as buried cables.
G+_Dan Hockey
That pvc is for water. But there is the pvc for electrical. Be careful which one you get.
G+_Jason Marsh
Just about everyone has a janky old garden hose that isn't getting much use since the delivery truck ran over the end, bending it beyond straightening. Cut the bent threaded end off and use the hose as your underground conduit. I've buried low-voltage cabling in an old hose with exactly zero issues. G+_Robert Gauld
Perhaps spray paint the hose to a standard colour for it's contents - grey.
G+_610GARAGE
Jason Marsh Wouldn't it be cheaper to repair the hose and just use conduit? You can get new ends for garden hose.
G+_Jason Marsh
Sure, one could replace the ends, but the janky old hose has probably been repaired a time or three already and has been hanging on on the side of the shack since I can't remember when anyways ?
