G+_David Jenkins
I've been watching the drone segments and I would love to build one. My problem is someplace to fly it. I live in the Dallas-Ft.Worth area, and about a mile from an airport, so probably flying them around here is not a good idea. I have the FAA app, but it's not exactly the most user friendly
G+_Ben Reese
There are tons of parks in the DFW area. I'd think if you're not planning on flying too high, you'd be safe in most of them. Perhaps the Dallas Area Rocket Society would be a good resource? It's doubtful you'll be flying higher than model rockets ?
G+_todd zimmerman
Check out local hobby and RC /drone stores in your area. The staff can give you insights about areas popular with flyers. Also, check out websites and see if there are any other pilots in your area. If you are able to, go to a flight area in person -- the other pilots I've met thus far are really cool and open to talk all things drones/RC. If you need a website to start looking at, check out http://dronepilots.zone/ or one of the many sister sites. (Im focused on the Karma, but also check out Mavic and Racing pilot sights.) dronepilots.zone - DronePilots.zone - The Leading Drone Community
G+_Ben Reese
This looks like a good place to fly. https://goo.gl/maps/esAyJWD29Rx
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Now that the FAA registration no longer applies, expect us to get back into drone-building once I get back from Tertianship.
