I just discovered an issue with reading voltage levels on the analog pins if the Arduino is being powered thru the VIN pins. If you use the USB or 9 volt plugs to power the Arduino you can get useful data by doing an analogRead but if the board is being powered thru the VIN pin anything over 3.49 volts reads as 1023 where when plugged in thru the USB the same voltage reads as 711.
