G+_Adam van Kuik
One of my cats chewed the power cord from my moms Surface Pro 3 a few months ago. I finally took time to fix it and it works. These pictures were taken after I soldered the wires together.
G+_Jerry Ham
Nice fix! A suggestion: for the individual wires, you might try some heat shrink tubing instead of the electrical tape. You would still use electrical tape on the outside, but could end up with a little slimmer repair.
G+_Adam van Kuik
Thank you. I would have preferred to use heat shrink, but I was too focused on soldering the wires together. This was my second time soldering.

G+_David Pick
Adam van Kuik I think he meant if your self repair resulted in an electrical fire, good luck with your home owner insurance.
