G+_Joel Pomales
Another good reason why I got a Synology NAS. Bye bye, Dropbox . Originally shared by Joel Pomales Bye Dropbox then. G+_George Fromtulsa
It isn't entirely clear (from other reports) that encrypted ext4 drives aren't supported. Not that I use Dropbox much, I long ago stopped using the "Dropbox Folder." Had some sync issues. Didn't like Dropbox having the folder on my computers. Or holding the encryption key. Anything going to a Cloud service that's at all sensitive is pre-encrypted and accessed through the web interface.
G+_Travis Hershberger
Why does the file system being encrypted or not even matter? If their software was written properly in the first place, the operating system totally obfuscates block storage from the application. So FFS Dropbox, stop with the stupid. G+_Ben Reese
I no longer use Dropbox for personal use and haven't for a while. It still works great for syncing the PowerPoint slides for Sunday morning, but there's nothing private there I need to keep secure. Also, not using it with Linux. Synology Cloud Sync will download your content from Dropbox if needed.
