G+_Mike Buchanan
What is the best way to make a bootable jump drive?
G+_Sam Zick
It depends on what you want out of it. In the video on resurrecting a PCM with Linux, it shows a great way to do it using USB, you might want to take a look at reboot.pro to make a windows pre installation environment (pe). G+_TC DIXON
Which do you want Window,Linux or OSX And do want to be able to install operating systems or do you want to run an operating system from a USB Stick
G+_Sam Zick
I didn't think you could run a live USB of osx due to hardware limitations and driver support, let alone being able to use on random pc's
G+_Mike Buchanan
I would like to make one for both a windows machine as well as osx. I want to use it to install an os. I am new to osx, just received my first mac pro so I am new to mac's and still in the learning phase.

G+_Sam Zick
I prefer having a flashdrive with Ubuntu 11.04, so I can still access hard drive files, and since It is an older version of the OS, it isn't taxing on random machines.

G+_Sam Zick
I would have thought Mac osx would be a lot more difficult to put on a live USB and get it to function. I'm in the process of moving right now, and can't wait to try this out!
G+_Mike Buchanan
Thank you both for your help. I have lots of options to play with this weekend.
G+_Mike Buchanan
One more question. I assume I would need a full version of windows not an upgrade copy to make a bootable usb of say windows 7 correct.
G+_Sam Zick
Good question, I have just always had a disk available, however, I think your upgrade disk should work. I think Microsoft also has WAIK that you can download to do the same thing.
