G+_Matthew Dougherty
Thank you for this episode. I do have a pole barn garage that is about 150 feet from my house and the signal is very weak out there. I have to leave the doors up to get a signal. I have been thinking I will be stuck with burying cable from the house out to the garage. Thanks. I will have to try it and let you know how it works. G+_P Costello
Greg M Yes, I know that, but, I did not know it was going to replace the live show on this Thursday. It was revealed late that there was no KH after iPad Today.
G+_Phill Fernandes
Ok... good. It wasn't just me. I thought I was going crazy or completely blind finding the show notes. I was looking forward to reading them and preparing myself to do an install of this solution at my girlfriends parent's house. The have Verizon FiOS and the main router is at the point of demarkation in the basement at the opposite end of the house from where 99% of their devices are. As a temporary solutions I had moved the router upstairs and while doing so didn't think that the coax post on the back would actually have a bearing on certain things (eg. Guide). The whole reason for this is their wireless printer is upstairs in the office/guest room and they have constant issues with printing to it. Also on occasion if you they are using a laptop or other device on the second floor they experience degraded throughput or dropped connections altogether. G+_Linvydas L
According to my personal experience, the client bridge mode may not work on some Realtek chip based routers (had couple DIR-615, but latest firmware fixed this issue), but it works well on routers, which have Atheros or Broadcom chips. G+_Phill Fernandes
Thanks Ron Reifsnider. Does anyone know what the coax post on the back of the Verizon Actiontec is used for off hand? iyaz akhtar you just have to love Drupal. :)
G+_Linvydas L
Ron Reifsnider One of these: ftp://ftp.basmaf.com/Fractal_Builds/20979/dd-wrt.v24-20979_NEWD_2_K2.6_std_usb_nas-RT-N66.trx ftp://ftp.basmaf.com/Fractal_Builds/20979/dd-wrt.v24-20979_NEWD_2_K2.6_std_usb_nas-RT-N66_64K.trx P.S. before using this firmware i would first follow DD-WRT guide and use proper firmware images (if your router has stock firmware), only then install one of above. G+_Chris Hightower
WOW that was a LOT of information. Gotta rewatch that one to try and absorb it all..
G+_Bruce Jordan
This was a great episode - I learned a lot, thank you. Only problem is that my existing wifi access point (Apple Time Capsule) seems to have noticed my interest in this area, and stopped working this morning. It has served me well (since it replaced the previous model of the same device - which died when its power supply failed). That's what I get for thinking about alternative setups. G+_Geoff Weyl
This was super interesting. I'm moving shortly and plan on adding a second TV using an xbox as an extender. I was considering MoCA or a powerline adapter. Would this be a better idea? Seems like it might be more expensive (but way faster....400 mb/s????!!!). G+_Marc Kline
I have been thinking about how I would go about extending the WiFi signal from the barn on our farm out to a weatherproofed box where I'm looking to host a Raspberry Pi for temperature logging of a compost pile. This episode gave me the kick in the butt I needed to move forward with that project. Thanks, as always!

G+_P Costello
Can you provide the screen captures for KH 38 in a way that can display the text in the capture large enough to read on IE ? The show notes does not render the screen captures large enough to be of use, at least in IE for me.
