KH134, is there a good place to get assortment of electronics for projects?  A good mix of resistors, capacitors, transistors, etc.  Can you point me to any good kits to start with? I'm also looking for 555 and IC4026 for a project in mind.

I was looking in the wrong place - at electronics websites (such as mouser, which was good for finding specific parts I need) but then I just googled Electronic Starter Kits...Amazon has a bunch of them.  Not sure why I didn't do that in the first place!

I am in the same boat! Figured you can't go to far wrong starting with the Elenco kits. Perhaps 100 each of caps, resistors, transistors, etc.

When I need assortments, I go to eBay. Sure, some of the stuff is of questionable quality. But it's cheap and I'm just a hobbyist.

 

When I know exactly what I want from a reputable source, I'll order from DigiKey.
