They're a machine the community advises people avoid because of chipped filament that's twice as expensive and restricts your options for software. The machines are cheap, yes, but they'll phone home if the user attempts modifications and void the warranty. The machine recommended to beginners is the Printrbot Simple Metal with the heated build plate. It is something a user can grow into and while they may want more build volume and faster printing in the future it won't hold them back with locked down firmware and software.
