G+_David Pick
So what exactly are you trying accomplish? I'm vaguely understanding your trying to compute on your desktop monitors on either your surface pro or your MacBook pro. It could be done, but very complicated to make portable computers into a workstation. A little more info on what your trying to do would be appreciated. G+_Richard Orth
First might be to raise those monitors above the laptop screens. Concrete blocks and a plank might do it. Are the monitors dual input? And switchable? If so, they could do double duty as second screens for the laptops.
G+_David Pick
Richard Orth I was thinking John wanted the desktop monitors to be the primary screen for his surface pro and MacBook. But I'd have to ask isn't that a Windows tower pc beneath the desk? If your trying to find room for the Surface Pro and MacBook on your desk, you might want to search for how much vesa monitor arm mounts cost? G+_Richard Orth
I saw the tower on the floor and how close the monitors are. If the monitors were for the laptops, its more typical to separate them at least a little. If some money can be spent, it might better be spent on a three-way keyboard/mouse switch and only have one keyboard and one mouse on the desktop. More room for papers or books. G+_John Costanzo
The desktop below is not used. Right now both monitors hook up to one of the machines and I switch when I need to
G+_David Pick
John Costanzo Again John, you need to explain some things. So are your plans to do all your future computing on your Surface Pro and MacBook Pro? Are you trying to use 2 computers with the dual desktop monitors and 1 keyboard and 1 mouse? To accomplish that. You would need a KVM switch. If your monitors use hdmi input, you can connect your Surface Pro and MacBook Pro with the right adapter.
G+_Erik Taraldsen
Hang a little shelf/plank under your desk to get the cable mess off the floor. I have the UPS, network switch and subwoofer + misc on such a plank. Dosent need to be fancy. Mine hangs of the underside of the desk, fairly narrow and as far back as possible so that it does not bump into my knees. Nice way to reclaim floor and desk space.
