G+_Dave Scott
How long before we are having live movies at the theaters? http://www.thatvideosite.com/v/11118/lucasfilm-shows-off-the-future-of-filmmaking-scenes-get-rendered-out-in-real-time-removing-the-need-for-post-production Reddit: http://reddit.com/r/movies/comments/1mz0w2/lucasfilm_shows_off_the_future_of_filmmaking/
G+_Fredrik Marklund
How stupid I am. Of course you have live, realtime acting movies at the cinema in USA.
G+_Blake DeVoss
Yes, there are specialty showings of plays already in cinemas in the US through services like Fathom Events. I don't go see them, and I don't think anyone else does.
G+_Prem Lee Barbosa
this technology could have many applications but as has been alluded this is the equivalent of a play. there are some important logistical differences between the production of a movie and the production of a play that makes a live movie more like something someone did to prove they could do it, a kind of "i told you so", rather than there being any actually good reason to make a live movie. For instance you could have multiple actors playing the same characters since voice/image could be augmented, but to do a film with more than one scene you'd likely have to have a studio for every single scene.
