G+_Dustin Buckingham
Ya... You can stream other video in the browser of the Xbox. Really well actually
G+_William Sellers
Dustin Buckingham Yup... Work pretty good... The updated XBOX OS has a web browser that supports video. I've been using a Roku2-XS and it works GREAT! It's another "Box" -- but I picked it up at our local http://samsclub.com for $69 WITH an HDMI cable (bundle) http://www.samsclub.com/sams/roku-2-xs-streaming-player-bundle/prod4730215.ip?navAction=
G+_Dustin Buckingham
William sellers , does that roku play video from a computer or nas storage on the network?
G+_William Sellers
Yes, if you are using a Plex server... See here: http://plexapp.com/roku/ I don't think it's as easy as an AppleTV (which I have also) -- As far as I know, you can't stream content from iTunes (on a computer) to the Roku. However, I think that people are doing alot with the Roku platform to extend it's functionality.
G+_William Sellers
The thing I really like about the Roku2 is the amount of "Channels" that you can subscribe to. Some are "pay" --- a lot are "free" --- See here: http://www.roku.com/channels/#!browse/movies-and-tv/by-popular I cut-the-cord several years ago -- DONT miss cable at all... Definitely, don't miss that bill... ;)
G+_Dustin Buckingham
How about a browser? Does it have a browser? I was also looking at a boxe box. Both seem like good solutions. But the boxee box Seems like it might do more. Anything seems better than paying for Xbox live.
