G+_Will Pherigo
Added a Seagate 1TB solid state hybrid drive to my 2010 MacBook Pro 13". Works great, has a 3 year warranty -- but it has really hit battery life (no surprise). Now I'm tempted to put in a SSD in the optical drive for videos. Thanks, Padre! G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Weeeelll... replace the HDD with a 256GB SSD and move that 1TB HDD over to the optical drive slot.
G+_Bradley Bishop
Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ Yep - that's what I did. Let the HDD fall to sleep when not in use. SSD continues to bring things up quickly.
G+_Will Pherigo
Congrats, Padre! Would love to talk theology with you too, but maybe you have a different venue for that. I already had in mind what you had suggested. Another approach I'm going to investigate is to see if that DVD slot, with a non-optical drive can become the primary. Thanks for all the tips! I'm IT lead and webmaster at my church. Current problem to solve there is getting a PZT in our auditorium that can do a 2.5 degree zoom from 68' -- with out if costing 10-20 grand for equipment plus installation.... PLUS, I want an on site demo of potential equipment prior to committing. Gotten burned in the past with other things.
G+_Will Pherigo
So that SSHD will go low power in that slot? Is that a setting in preferences?
