G+_Bryan Heine
In FreeNAS I tried to set a static IP but get no internet access. Can you please show how to do this the right way. Thank you.
G+_Matt Bonnett
Probably a dumb question and I have no clue how FreeNAS is set up but did you also enter your gateway and DNS addresses? Leaving those blank (or at least the gateway portion) will cause that. Essentially without that it doesn't know the upstream router exists and how to route through that to the net. Beyond that, hard to say. Check all the usual derpy stuff. Double check cables, reboot, etc.
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Bryan Heine I'm not really sure what you're trying to do. The default FreeNAS setup will take a DHCP address from your network... and I'm not sure what you mean when you write "no internet access" --- are you trying to use your FreeNAS as your router? G+_Bryan Heine
It seem that when using DHCP the ip address changes every now and then. I was told to give your FreeNAS a static IP address. Thank you for your reply.
