G+_mike wendel
Lisa Kentzell the changes to the TWiT YouTube feed has broken the way I consume your content. I use YouTube mostly to consume TWiT via Smart TV, Android and laptop. YouTube feeds are clunky enough on their own, but now I have to add 20 feeds, work harder to consume the content and am guaranteed to miss some of your content now. I simply don't get it. Channels like Geek and Sundry have no problem managing multiple shows under one account and have a unified brand on YouTube. G+_Simon Zerafa
To be honest I am using YouTube more simply because the Sublime Video player on the TWiT Home page seems to be broken, or at least seriously dysfunctional. I use Windows 7 and Google Chrome or Firefox (same issues for both browsers). HTML 5 videos never seem to play (they download but don't stream or play) where as the Flash videos do play. In neither version can you scrub the content so you can pick up where you left off or get to a specific point in the stream. If I want to play the video content off the home page I use VLC to stream the content directly from the links and this works great; loads fast and I can scrub the content to get to the required point in the timeline. Why has the Sublime Video player not got those features? I think I used to have them but they don't seem to be working now. Guess where those features work fine? YouTube. Streams every time and you can get to a specific point easily.
G+_Leo Laporte
I'm sorry it's not working for you, Michael but I think you might be an edge case. Most people don't consume 20 shows every week! The idea was to give you more control of what you want to watch. Previously you had to subscribe to ALL 25 of our shows in a single feed. Now you can choose which shows to subscribe to - and you should only have to do that once. Geek snd Sundry does considerably fewer hours of programming every week so it's more manageable. In fact, we did a single channel until we started exceeding 40 hours a week of content. I don't think watching TWiT should be the equivalent of a full-time job! We'll work on a way you can subscribe to a single feed of everything, however. I don't want to make it hard on you to watch it all, either!! Thanks for your feedback! G+_Michael Olsen
Thanks Leo Laporte while I wish I could watch all the shows, I mostly use the YouTube app on my PS3 to watch my core shows and easily browse the 'other shows' to see if I want to catch one of those on occasion. Ultimately the limits on YouTube itself my be the biggest challenge.
G+_Tom Paladino
I respectfully disagree Michael Olsen and support what Leo Laporte is doing . I find unique streams far more convenient than lumping all the content together. I watch Geek and Sundry also and find it terribly cluttered if I want to watch the Sword and Laser episode from two episodes ago and have to scan through tons of video that has been posted since then. My only wish, is that YouTube would fix how the feeds are ordered. I can't figure it out. They're not alphabetical and they don't seem to be chronological. It doesn't make sense... G+_Michael Olsen
Tom Paladino I generally agree with you actually, I just found the old way particularly convenient to the way I consume TWiT...and ultimately I think YouTube itself is the larger problem. G+_Rob Hopkins
Simon Zerafa I have this exact same issue! Mine works fine in Firefox but anytime I try to view the html5 player in chrome it never plays! I did some research and could not find anyone with this issue, I finally feel validated!! G+_Simon Zerafa
It's either a strange config issue with Chrome and Firefox or a broken video player. I was guessing the latter and I am also vindicated! Now how do we get someone like Leo Laporte or Lisa Kentzell to actually take notice and work on getting it fixed? :-)
G+_Harold Crews
I watch a good half dozen of the shows every week on my Roku so I don't have a dog in the fight but wouldn't it be possible to have a separate YT channel for each show and a network YT channel where all programing is aggregated?
