G+_Rich Massie
Hey padre... any suggestions on a 16 port switch 8regular 8 Poe
G+_Jason Brown
I'm not padre of course, but Ubiquiti makes awesome switchs. I just watched an episode of Know How where padre expressed his love for Netgear ProSafe switches. I would really recommend some sort of managed switch in the event you want more features in the future i.e. VLAN, QOS. My two cents.... Id love for padre to comment as well. amazon.com - Amazon.com: NETGEAR ProSAFE JGS516PE 16-Port Gigabit Rackmount PoE Web Managed (Plus) Switch with 8 PoE Ports 85w (JGS516PE-100NAS): Electronics

G+_Frank Johnson Sr
I would too. Web Managed, Smart Managed, or just Managed with no fan and never get a rack mount?
G+_Peter Hanse
I would say rack mount is nice if you have a rack to mount it in. All our switches are reck mount with patch panel above it. This allows for using patch cables. When looking for switch consider extra ports for expansion.
G+_Frank Johnson Sr
Padre's Choices Netgear ProSAFE 8-Port Gigabit PoE Managed (Smart) ~$80 Netgear ProSAFE 16-Port Gigabit PoE Managed (Smart) ~$160 Cisco SG300 10-Port Gigabit Managed Switch ~$150 Noise (don't get one with a fan) * AVOID switches with fans. Especially rack-mounted switches that tend to use small-bladed, high-speed fans. * UNLESS you are dedicating a data center/data closet that can be acoustically isolated
