Windows laptop makers should get rid of re-stocking fees on their products--they'd sell a lot more stuff, and I'm betting the number of returns would not go up enough to outstrip the increase in sales.

 

There are fewer and fewer places one can try out a laptop before buying, and playing with one in a store isn't a real tryout anyway. Buyers should not have to pay up to $100s of dollars for the privilege of a 2-4 week trial.
