G+_Richard Sequeira
After watching veritasium's youtube video on click farms, I got interested into reading more about the issue. Ultimately this is about hacking and taking advantage of the system. Of course the problem is beyond Facebook as the click farm(ers?) are highly entrepreneurial. And as Leo mentioned recently, you can even buy app downloads/reviews. So in the end who can we trust? Would love to hear deeper insights being discussed on twit network on this matter. I mean something more than an 'eah and a shrug'. http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2014/01/05/click-farms-making-millions-by-duping-social-media/
G+_Brian Covey
I was just reading an article about how "Flappy Bird" is being trademarked and that there are dozens of "clones" and then I read this article and I just can't help but think that our society deserves to be spied on and advertised to and generally manipulated at each and every turn of our day. Click farms have been the norm for a very long time. They squew everything. Search results are manipulated. Facebook is manipulated... Google Plus is manipulated. And yet we go on, oblivious. Happy to fly that bird or plant that farmville or whatever is the current trend that the click farms have decided is the trend for the day. Apathy is the word for the day
