G+_Gilbert Baron
Tried useus image backup and it creates image but the created boot dvd does not work. Created 2 and tried on 3 different pcs and not recognized by any of them at boot and looks empty in explorer. Not too useful, Using Acronis but that needs license for each PC Will keep looking I guess. USEUS no longer gives support to free users either. G+_Richard Blackman
I've been using Easeus' Todo Backup for years without issue. I have created the boot CD (note use a CD not DVD) many times and it works fine.
G+_Gilbert Baron
Used a DVD. Should not matter but will try CD and post result. Horrible documentation if true!
G+_Gilbert Baron
I created with a CD and it booted and started program. i did not actually do a recovery yet but it seems as though it will work. Thanks and the creaters ought to make this clear. I did have a suspicion but thanks to you it made me try it.
G+_Richard Blackman
Good, I'm glad it is working for you. I've tried a few different ones and this one I like the best. Often used to image an infected system before wiping then after the reinstall I can mount the image to pull back the users files.
G+_Gilbert Baron
My usage is periodic backups before infection to permit rebuilding a known good system without the horrible reinstall process. Also in case I do something to ruin a system.
G+_Richard Blackman
Yes, that's a good process for us in the know. Unfortunately the general public doesn't do it that way and often saves their files in all the wrong places. Being a sysadmin myself I see this all the time. So the safe way is to image first, using this method over the years I have never lost a client's file.
