G+_Troy Luchterhand
So if I buy a Pixel phone direct from Google, will it only work on Verizon, or can I still go wit AT&T?
G+_Jeremy Baugh
Unlocked versions from Google will work on any carrier. This "exclusive" Verizon deal is confusing many people. What they're saying is Verizon will be the only carrier to sell the Pixel in stores (at launch).
G+_Jeremy Baugh
Yeah Verizon is screwing up big time with their exclusive deal. Their Pixels will have locked bootloaders, bloatware from Verizon, and Verizon will be controlling updates... Stupid, stupid, stupid. Why Google allowed this is beyond me. So if you're going to buy it, get it from Google directly.
G+_L I
You have to dance with the devil sometimes. Carriers' attention to am phone may make or break the sales numbers.
G+_Jeremy Baugh
Andrew Uschold True... I still hate that Verizon is locking the bootloader though and controlling system updates on their exclusive model. That's not going to be good for the user. Carriers are the worst when it comes to getting updates out on time. I'll never buy carrier branded anything (unless I'm forced to). :D
