I've been an IOS user for quite some time now. I'm currently using an iPhone 6+. I'm REALLY wanting an S8+ or LGG6, though. This is going to be a tough switch for me. I use MacOS as well, and enjoy using iMessage on my laptop and other devices. I don't think that part will be hard to find solutions for. The issue I can't find any info about is hands free texting. I am in my car for up to 3 hours a day. Customers contact me through text messages constantly. Siri reads these and I reply to them with little fuss. Is there an analogue in the Android world? Plus, if I switch to Android my Ingress team will finally quit making fun of me.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thank you very much for the replay! I have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, so no Android Auto for me, unfortunately. The existing head unit doesn't have any texting ability that I know of, which is why is use Siri to do it. I've been exploring assistants, etc., but am not coming up with anything. This is the one piece I lack that will allow me to switch to Android. But thank you again! I appreciate the response.

I was just reading this post and thinking to myself... "jeeeee... This guy is going to regret the transition so fast that he'll even have the time to return it back".

Anyway... Regarding the messaging while driving...

Again Andrew Uschold?is right. With an S8+ you won't need a head unit anyway...

As long as the capability is there, I'll be able to adapt. I've watched a few review videos where they were sans head unit, but very few have demonstrated full hands free. Looks like I'm just going to have to get one and try it out myself. This will be hard. That display looks magnificent. If it doesn't work I'm going to hate going back to the iPhone.

Also, I'd really like to be thin enough to be able to slip from the passenger seat to the driver seat over the console. That definitely isn't going to happen. Thank you for the link!

The 7+ is a gear phone, I agree. My wife has one. I'm actually trying to escape the Apple ecosphere. I'm not happy with the direction other Apple hardware is going, so I think it's time to change or at least investigate alternatives. I also appreciate the other devices available on android, I like the watches! I know android watches work on iPhones, but not to their fullest capacity. My poor Pebble Steel is not long for this world.

I will check out the One + 3 though, too. Thank you!
