G+_Ronald Cole Jr
Is Verizon controlling the software updates of the Google Pixel & should I buy it through Verizon or the Google store?
G+_Neil Sedlak
No, Verizon isn't blocking updates. The bootloader is locked if you have time for such things. I've moved on from messing with ROMs so I personally don't care. :)

G+_Neil Sedlak
Luis Padilla It really comes down to what you need. If you are on Verizon then look for an upcoming deal. If you aren't on Verizon, there's not a lot of reason to buy from them (or Best Buy) as you need to include at least a month of prepaid to get it without a regular plan. My QB XL 128 shows up tomorrow after a month and a half delay so I hope it lives up to the hype!
G+_Jay-Ar Pinero
They get the same updates. I think if u buy a Verizon pixel but initially boot it with a non Verizon sim it becomes a unlocked version same as the Google playstore.
G+_Luis Padilla
Neil Sedlak Yeah I got it on Verizon for half the price by trading in my LG V10. Nice, well I hope you enjoy your new Pixel.
G+_Joseph Cappellino
Jay-Ar Pinero - That can't be correct. It has to be locked at the hardware/firmware level. Else, anyone buying a Pixel from the Google Store and inserting their Verizon SIM would then lock the bootloader. It has to be a different SKU where the only difference is the bootloader.
