G+_Demond Rice
I am reading negative stuff about I/O. How nothing amazing was announced and it was not what people was expecting. Google did not hype up I/O we did. Google is trying to change what I/O is. It is for developers. That is why they do not allow every Joe Schmoe to attend. Yes there invite the press but it is for developers. Plus Google makes software that is given to developers and manufacturers to build on and around. Google does not build houses. The lay the foundation and give you the structure and say build your house on this. Android was given to HTC, Motorola, Sony, LG, and Samsung as the base. Those companies then built around it. That is whats happening with Android wear, home and car. Can you imagine Timex, Casio, Fossil or Diesel making smart watches. They don't have to invest the money or time in creating there own platform. They can just use wear and build around that. The same thing with home. The TV companies can just add Android software into there product. My point is Google I/O is for the people that will make the cool products. I/O gives those people the tools today to release the cool tech for the future.
G+_Marlon Thompson
A lot of amazing things were announced, we are going to see some amazing apps and devices in the upcoming year. G+_Demond Rice
Marlon Thompson I loved this years I/O because I see it for what it is. I agree that we will see some amazing thing in the next year.
G+_Chris Taylor
Agree. The clue is in the title: Developers! It's like the articles saying G+ is dead now because it wasn't mentioned. They covered a lot in the 3 hours, so I don't understand the negativity either.
G+_James Heuer
Whining and complaining is just pure habit for some people. If they are too shortsighted to see the potential then that's their problem imo. They'll just look like fools later.
G+_Josh Frye
I posted on another community that the words "Google+ and dead" were basically keyword seach bait in any article now.
G+_Elizabeth Whitmire
I'm excited about Android tv. That's just what I've been waiting for. It didn't help me decide what tv to get, but when I get one, I'll get an Android tv set top box.
G+_Chris McKay
Maybe it's because I'm a developer, so I was a part of the target audience, but I think a lot of exciting things were announced. Normally I'm all in with Microsoft, but I love my Nexus 5 and am planning on getting an Android TV. And I would love it if I could get an aftermarket kit to upgrade my car to Android Auto. And I'm planning on getting Android L installed later today.

G+_Josh Frye
The same thing happens at Apple's events, they want to see a universe changing event that will bring us all rainbows and unicorns. But reality doesn't move like that, hence people are disappointed for no reason at all.
G+_Marlon Thompson
Google has always had a problem or I should say never prioritized putting out easy headline grabbing taglines. At the end of WWDC it was easy to say, custom keyboards, Healthkit New dev programming language, phone calls on your mac. But when you look at Google/Android the changes could have a bigger real world impact, Project Volta - Headline Better Battery life for your phone. Android one- Headline Quality phones with latest firmware and updates straight from google for developing markets (bigger market for devs, local innovation for homegrown apps). Material design Headline: better design and support for apps on all screens, better user experience. I can go on and on about Android wear, the new privacy controls, ART. Android TV, Google Fit. and there is so much more.
G+_Erik Huntoon
I loved I/O in the past when things like the Nexus 7 was announced and immediately available, or even the Q. But I currently don't have a need for another new gadget or tablet and found this years keynote stunning to see how much Android is going to weave into my life in the near future. I'm ramping up to get in the market for a new car soon and now I'm thinking I should hold off and see if Android Auto will be available in a model I'm interested in. The watches are definitely intriguing and I can't wait to get Android L on my Nexus 5. I don't see how anyone was unimpressed with what was shown off.
