G+_Marlon Thompson
Reality check, people. The Nexus 6 is now competing with the iphone 6 plus as well as the Note 4. It has a premium phone look and feel. The iphone 6 plus 16gb unlocked is $859. The Nexus 5, which is still a damn good phone is still available and its cheap but to be honest if you were thinking of a bigger phone that can basically act as your tablet $650 is not so bad
G+_Joseph Cappellino
Agreed. I'm not so upset about the price, but more so the size. I'm not sure I could use a 6" device all the time. That being said...QHD and SD805... It's a pretty awesome device.
G+_Marlon Thompson
I am also wary of the price, however my son does need a replacement phone for his aging Galaxy S3 which means he could get my N5 and I could probably pick up a ...... G+_Leif
I think the price is fine because it could be the first Nexus without compromises. And remember, the old Galaxy Nexus was priced that high as well. We shouldn't forget that the manufacturer doesn't make much money on cheap Nexus devices so they most likely just agreed to such cheap deals as long as they could need this for marketing or to push their brand. HTC did it until it was well known, Samsung never needed it and so was the GNex more expensive, LG doesn't longer need it after two Nexus generations and so Motorola doesn't really need it because their Moto G and Moto X are already great products. Why should any serious manufacturer agree to a new cheap phone where they don't make any money when they could sell their own where they make a profit? I don't think that Google paid them so much financially ... if they paid anything at all. Same with the OnePlusOne which is just so cheap in its first generation and limited numbers for the marketing effect. We should stay realistic with the prices and if this will really be the first Nexus without compromises it would be worth it. Camera with OIS, always listening mic like the Moto X, qHD Amoled Screen, dual front speaker, decent capacity battery, turbo charge and a great look and a size of the iphone 6+ but with a larger screen. This sounds all pretty good in my opinion and for the people who prefer the smaller size they still keep selling the Nexus 5. For cheap entry level devices they have Android One now.
