G+_Tom Gehrke
In case any AAA-ers were curious about the Udacity courses. Originally shared by Tom Gehrke Android Development Learning So the other day I complained about Android view attributes not conforming to camel-case standards (e.g. layout_width versus the more "correct" layoutWidth). Going through Udacity's "Android Development for Beginners" for a quick refresh before jumping into the Android Development Nanodegree course, I get the logic behind the "layout_" prefix. This is something that was not explained in other Android development books I'd used previously and really made me stop and think about how well this course has been put together. Maybe this is because the courses are actually done by Google Developers. In any case, I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. It's a good mix among being technical, attempting to be fun ;), examples using actual Google applications, interviews with real Google developers like Kirill Grouchnikov, etc. I honestly expected to be bored by going back to basics to make sure I had what I needed for the more in depth course, but it's really been engaging and informative. I'm going to continue to share my thoughts on my Android Development education here in the hopes that other noobs like me will be encouraged to join in. https://www.udacity.com/course/android-development-for-beginners--ud837
