G+_Dennis Jones
Just finished watching the Security Now Christmas Special. Loved watching Steve emulate a screw. Now we need a part two describing the enhancements to hard drives over the past 20 years and how the engineers have solved the various problems which have crept into these devices. This might be the subject of a series of Security Now shows.
G+_Stephen Styffe
Dennis Jones Steve said that hard drives haven't changed all that much since them. Only minor enhancements that are probably not big bullet points. It would probably be hard for Steve to fill up a whole show with just talking about the new technology in hard drives. G+_Stephen Styffe
Also, hard drives don't seem to be the technology that is being used widely in the modern era of computing (e.g. smartphones and tablets). A whole show on SSDs and flash memory would probably be a more"future-proof" topic.
G+_Jeff Wolfers
HDs certainly have improved over the years, smaller, faster and more reliable. The basic concept as far as SpinRight is concerned though hasn't changed much at all. I agree though, a 20 year update would be a good show.
