G+_Robert Carlos
It will be interesting to see how quickly the episodes for new seasons show up on Play. if they come soon after airing then with Chromecast this might be a cord cutters dream. Originally shared by Google Play HBO is coming to Google Play! Starting today, you can get Game of Thrones, True Blood, The Newsroom and other HBO favorites on Play: US- goo.gl/c16fsG. Over the next few months, we'll be adding more of their incredible series, films, documentaries and more. Stay tuned!
G+_Chris Wood
While this is great news for people who have left the iTunes ecosystem, I doubt they are going to release soon after air. Premium channels like HBO and Showtime typically don't release their shows to digital purchasing outlets like iTunes and Google Play until the DVDs are available. G+_Chris Ferguson
Chris Wood Which is entirely BS. All HBO needs to do is either come up with a cheap subscription model. Or, contract with Hulu and get the revenue for the 30-60 ads that could run in the episode. I for one would pay $3.99-5.99/month for HBOGO. And if they branched the service off to include all of their properties I'd even consider paying a little more. I sense I'm not alone here. G+_Glenn Hoeppner
This isn't just HBO Go?
G+_William Deboer
this is a slippery slope. you get hbo going to subscription based through media sources other than the cable companies you could end up with your internet subscription going up or data caps or denial in worse case. cable isnt going to let this happen without some sort of burden on the end user. G+_Glenn Hoeppner
Hmm, yeah, I'm not a cord cutter. I was doing it before it was cool and switched back when Uverse rolled into town. I get get a dozen HBO stations for $14/mo. So I doubt buying one-offs will be cheaper. I dunno, I've been thinking about trying to cord cut again, but I don't get shit for channels over antenna and I'm not sure that buying shows on amazon (or elsewhere) would be cheaper when I add them all up. G+_Bryan Siverly
How about a fix for HBOGo that works on Android 4.3?
G+_Glenn Hoeppner
I already have Netflix and Amazon Prime...and Uverse. Netflix is the thing I'm probably closest to cutting. Most of what we watch there is kids shows, and Amazon Prime has nearly all of them now.
